It is New Years Eve today and we are on our way back to Sydney. We have 2 sea days and then we will be there early Wednesday morning January 2, 2013. We gained an hour last night and will gain another hour tonight. We slept in this morning but got up early enough to eat breakfast in the Pinnacle Grill. We weren't as late as we were yesterday morning but pretty close to it. I ordered Special K and they said that they didn't know if they had any or not that they might be out. I gave them a second choice in case they didn't have my Special K. I told Krista that I knew the ship wasn't out but that they probably were out in the restaurant. I have had that happen in the past. I would order something from room service and they would tell me they were out and I would just go somewhere else on the ship and find it.
When they brought my cereal he said that he was able to find the Special K but it looked a little different because it came out of a big box instead of the small box. I am not sure what he was talking about because what he brought me was anything but Special K. It tasted like cardboard but I ate it anyway. After breakfast we went to the Neptune Lounge to pick up a daily New York Times paper and what did they have but Special K. What is so funny about this is that the Pinnacle Grill is the restaurant that supplies the Neptune Lounge with food.
The ship is rocking and rolling today so we aren't wanting to do much but lay around. Two hours after we had breakfast we had a Indonesian Suite Luncheon in the Pinnacle Grill. We went to that but I wasn't really that hungry. This luncheon has a preset menu of Indonesian foods. We had an appetizer, salad, soup, entree and dessert. The appetizer, soup and salad were good. When they brought out the entree I couldn't believe the amount of food they had on the plate. It was way too much. I just tasted a little bit of each type of food and then pushed the rest of it around on my plate. For dessert we had rice pudding which was good but once again I wasn't hungry.
We went to a talk from the Destinations Expert to hear what she had to say about Sydney. We will be in Sydney 2 nights after the cruise and need to decide what to do during that time.
They had a Deal or No Deal Game show today. We stopped by to see the last part of it. I thought the lady was going to win big but she ended up winning 1 cent. I am sure she was disappointed but she was a good sport. I would have been a nervous wreck up there trying the decide which cases to open.
We didn't do much the rest of the day. When we went to dinner they had party hats and noise blowers for us. I was still so full from lunch that I couldn't eat much. I don't remember any other cruise where I was as sick of food as this one.
After dinner we went to the spa. The water was really sloshing around in the pool so we didn't stay long.
We went back to the room to rest. There is a Countdown Party at 11:00 pm but I don't think we are going to make it. We are calling it a night. It will still be 2013 in the morning whether we say up or not.
