April 13, 2018

Today was another Sea day. We started out with room service breakfast at 8:00 and then took our time until we went down for trivia. I went to the photo gallery to pick up our picture we had taken in Darwin. We couldn’t find it on the wall so one of the photographers looked it up on the computer for us and found it. He added it to the flash drive and I have to go back later to pick up the print.

We tried to go listen to a boring talk about sunken treasures or something but the theatre was full of old people so we walked into the Wheelhouse Bar and they were getting ready to start a talk in there so we sat down and looked on the Patter to see what it was and it was something about boosting your metabolism or something like that so we quickly got up and found something else to do. We watched the dance class where they were teaching the jive. I am sure if I tried, I could do it perfectly just by sitting in my seat watching.

We are actually pretty close to land at this point. You can see mountains in a distance and it looks like there is snow on top. At the Captain’s noon time talk he said it is sand on top of the mountains.

For lunch we had hot dogs again and watched the people swimming and sunbathing until time for the art auction. I actually bid on something this time.

Bingo was at 2:30 and Mary P won $80.

We had dinner in the dining room at 5:30 and as soon as we finished eating we rushed to the showroom to get a seat for the show. The entertainment was Acrobats Zimboys. They were really good. I don’t know what their background is because they don’t bother to tell us.

The final auditions for Voice of the Ocean were tonight. There were 11 people that auditioned tonight. They announced the ones that made it to the finals. I didn’t count how many there were but probably 6 or 7. There were only a handful that knew how to sing.

Tomorrow we will be in Cairns where Mary P and I have a tour into the rainforest and a train ride. It should be fun. David and Beth are going on a ship tour to Great Barrier Reef.
