Today was April 21, Day 2. I woke up on my flight from Sydney in time to be served breakfast that wasn’t the best but it kept me from getting hungry. I know I was fortunate to have been able to fly Business Class but this was probably near the top of uncomfortable flights that I have had. I only watched one movie on the flight — The Greatest Showman.
We landed in Honolulu around 11:20 am and quickly got through Customs and Immigration thanks to Global Entry. We were at the rental car place by a little after noon. There was a short wait for our rental car (mini van) but we were on our way by about 12:30 pm or so.
We had no idea how to get to our hotel which is located in Kapolei. I entered the address in Google Maps and off we go. We took a wrong turn because we didn’t understand the directions we were given. We ended up entering the military base. They put a cone behind the car, took Mary P’s drivers license and had us to do a u-turn to leave the base. He then returned the drivers license. We finally figured out how to get to the hotel. It took us about an hour to get to the hotel. Our room wasn’t ready yet so we went to a local eatery and ate lunch. When we returned to the hotel we were able to check in.
Once we settled into our room, we were really tired. I took a shower and went straight to bed. I don’t think it was long before Mary P went to bed also.
